David Stone, Founder and Principal, has consistently been one of the leading landlord and tenant representatives in the Downtown Chicago area and was named the Chicago Retail Broker of the Year by Crain's Chicago Business. David has earned a reputation as a respected leader within the industry and an advisor to many of his colleagues.
Prior to forming Stone Real Estate Corporation, David served for eight years as Vice President/Director of Retail Leasing at M & J Wilkow, Ltd., a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment company. He oversaw the retail leasing department, encompassing a portfolio of urban retail space and Midwest shopping centers as well as third party representation.
David spent six years with CB Richard Ellis' downtown Chicago office, where he was responsible for the company's retail leasing efforts in the downtown Chicago market. David's background also includes serving as Regional Director of Operations for The Levy Organization, a national real estate and foodservice company, responsible for company operations in Chicago, Denver, Atlanta and Pittsburgh.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, David has called Chicago his home since 1981. He earned a Master's degree in Management (MBA) from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Indiana University. David is one of seven members of the private sector appointed by the City of Chicago Department of Planning to the Retail Advisory Committee for the Mayor's Task Force on State Street and the Mayor's Task Force on Wabash. He also serves on the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association's Sign and Urban Design Committee and Chicago Loop Alliance's State Street Redevelopment Committee.
In addition to overseeing the company's client relationships, David directly manages the Gap, The Fresh Market and Lincoln Property Co. accounts. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running and being active in his community. |
